The group is for family members or others affected by the serious mental illness of someone close to them. The group will offer a safe space for people to come together in a relaxed and welcoming environment. Members can alleviate stress and gain support through meeting at, working on and tending to an allotment and there is also a shed where members can meet to create and share artwork. The group will signpost information, knowledge and skills and offer a space where members can share experiences.

COPE is a voluntary led peer-support group for families, friends, and carers of people with serious mental health illness who experience psychosis. Our group offers a safe, non-judgemental, and welcoming environment where members can meet to share experiences, signpost each other to other services and look after their well-being. We meet once a month and offer support and encouragement to one another in a respectful, confidential, and supportive space. To be heard is valuable. We meet at Newton Abbot library and the library and the room itself are fully accessible (there is a lift from the ground floor), and toilets are nearby on the same floor. There is provision for making hot drinks and refreshments in a small kitchen and tea and coffee will be provided but members will be advised to bring their own lunch if required. There is no parking at the library but there are many carparks within a short walking distance. The train station is about 10 minutes’ walk away and the bus station is less than 5 minutes away. Please drop us a line on the group email to find out more – we look forward to meeting you!

We offer a friendly and safe place for a chat and can signpost you to other services. This is an exciting time to join our expanding group, and we welcome your input and ideas. We are a peer-led support group for the carers, family members and friends of people with lived experience of mental illness. We also welcome people living with mental illness who wish to attend, as both sets of people share similar issues. We have three groups running: 1. A virtual meeting runs on the 2nd Monday of each month at 7pm. Contact us for details. 2. A face-to-face meeting is held on the 4th Monday of each month from 7pm at Meadowfield Hospital, Swandean, Arundel Road, Worthing BN13 3EF. Every month, we try to arrange for a guest speaker to talk to the group about their specialist area but always leave time for people to share concerns and receive support. 3. A drop-in session takes place on the first Wednesday of the month between 10:30am and 1pm, at The Happy Teapot Cafe, 7 Richmond Rd, Worthing BN11 1PN (opposite Worthing Library). Stay for 5 minutes, the whole time, or anywhere in between.

You're very welcome to enquire about this group and arrange a 30-minute initial discussion, yet please note that spaces are limited. Our virtual/online support group is for women impacted by mental health issues, such as prolonged low mood/depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, PTSD or BPD/EUPD (and associated loneliness or social isolation, low self-confidence and self-esteem). But you don't need a formal mental health diagnosis to join - it's more important that you could benefit from the group. We can offer a welcoming, non-judgemental and understanding space to connect with and learn from others and receive and give support. As we meet online - using Whereby Video, you'll need the following: ● Access to a private room or space for the duration of each meeting ● To adhere to the group rules around confidentiality ● A mobile phone, tablet or computer/laptop with a camera and microphone installed ● A good internet connection and private WiFi connection ● A personal/private email address. Meetings take place fortnightly on Tuesdays, 5.30 pm - 7.00 pm. The Group Coordinator will email the details you need to access a scheduled group meeting. To enquire about the group, please email Vicky via eastleighwomenswellbeing@gmail.com or contact her via the group mobile.
