Our Group has been supporting people living with mental illness including their families and carers for over thirty years. We run a monthly carers group in collaboration with the York carers centre. Our group meets once a month in an evening, and offers carers and family supporting someone living with mental illness the chance to come together in a relaxed and welcoming environment. Our friendly group offers a safe space for people to share their experiences freely and without judgement, so our members feel less isolated and more supported. We provide information, share knowledge and skills and on occasions we are supported by visiting speakers from our local trust, keeping us up to date with changes in services and care.

We offer a safe, relaxing space for people caring for someone with mental illness to share what sort of month they've had. We recognise the feelings of frustration, isolation, and often stigma some experience when supporting someone in that setting, not to mention how challenging and overwhelming it can be to navigate through the secure care system.
