Can you have schizophrenia without hallucinations?  


Yes. While hallucinations are common in schizophrenia, not everyone experiences them. The condition can present in many different ways.

Schizophrenia is a serious mental health condition that affects how you think, feel, and behave. Symptoms are often grouped into: 

Positive symptoms such as hallucinations and delusions 

Negative symptoms such as lack of motivation, social withdrawal, and changes in emotions 

Do you need hallucinations to have schizophrenia? 

No. Hallucinations are common, but they’re not the only symptom. Some people may experience disorganised thinking, reduced motivation, or emotional changes without ever having hallucinations. Everyone’s experience is different.
