COPE is a voluntary led peer-support group for families, friends, and carers of people with serious mental health illness who experience psychosis. Our group offers a safe, non-judgemental, and welcoming environment where members can meet to share experiences, signpost each other to other services and look after their well-being. We meet once a month and offer support and encouragement to one another in a respectful, confidential, and supportive space. To be heard is valuable. There is a car park at the centre, though there are not many parking spaces. The centre recommends those who are unable to walk more than a short distance park there and all others can park in the adjoining Cricketfield Car Park – this is a Pay and Display Long Stay carpark which is connected to the centre car park via a short footpath. The centre is a 13 min walk from Newton Abbot railway station and is well connected by buses. The group meets in the Yellow Room. There is provision for making hot drinks and refreshments in a small kitchenette and tea and coffee will be provided but members will be advised to bring their own lunch if required. The Wiltshire Hearing Voices Group, which has been running since 2016, provides a safe and non-judgemental space where people with unusual sensory experiences, such as hearing voices, smelling, seeing, tasting, or sensing things others do not, can share experiences and coping strategies. Although up to 1 in 10 people hear voices, many are frightened to talk about them. This group is open to everyone who lives with hearing voices or other unusual experiences and the sessions are informal with a break in the middle. As it is a drop-in group, there is no referral process, and you are free to come and go as you please. The group is also a member of the Hearing Voices Network.

You might have lots of questions and concerns. You might be worried about your sibling and how best to support them. You might need some support for yourself and find it difficult to know where to turn. The Bristol Siblings Group is a voluntary led peer support and we run the group in the evenings, once a month, via Zoom. A supportive space: Whether your sibling is experiencing ill mental health for the first time, or they have been affected by mental illness for longer, you are very welcome to come along to our monthly meetings where you can: • meet other siblings • share your experiences and the emotions you feel as a sibling • access information on mental health issues and sibling support • realise you are not alone. A place to share: The group is very friendly and informal, and you’ll have the chance to offload, and talk about whatever’s going on for you and your family. It’s up to you how much or little you talk, but you can feel sure there will people at the group who want to listen and connect with you. Southwest Carers is a voluntarily led peer support group for carers, who face the challenge of loving and caring for someone who has borderline personality disorder (BPD). We meet twice a month on Wednesday evenings in Zoom meetings where we offer a safe and friendly space to share worries, experiences, and our hopes for the future. We work together to access guidance and practical advice from experts in BPD and try to raise the profile of this distressing mental disorder.
