Rowan House is an intensive support service designed to promote recovery and improve social inclusion for adults with mental illness. It also supports peoples transition back to community living. The service is commissioned and regulated by Wiltshire Council. It is not Care Quality Commission Registered Care, nor is it solely housing-related support, but provides an innovative approach to the delivery of time-limited, outcome-focused care and support tailored to each persons needs. The service is delivered in accommodation provided by Selwood Housing. Short term support is provided by Rethink Mental Illness, up to a maximum of two years.

The Act provides a legal framework for the right of appeal for vulnerable people who have no family or friends who are available and appropriate to support or represent them, to ensure they are not deprived of their liberty unless it is in their best interests.
