Telling your story
Make sure you write on your fundraising page if someone inspired you to do this, or if you have gotten support from Rethink Mental Illness or if you simply wanted to do something to help people. Remember to include on your page what people’s sponsorship and donations mean to you and will mean to us as an organisation. Thank people for their support, and tell them what it means to you that they’re willing to give your fundraising a boost.

Share your fundraising
Make sure you use social media to share what you are doing and how you are getting on in the run up to an event. Include us (@Rethink_) in your posts too. If you are hosting a cake sale, post images of your creations, and f you have smashed a training run, take a selfie and let people know what you have achieved. Sharing your story with your local media is a great way of spreading the message too. See the link below for more information on this.

Important information
Please get in touch with us if you would like to hold a public collection. There are strict guidelines to collecting in public, including having to get a permit from the your local authority or police force. The Fundraising Standards Board (FRSB) works to ensure that organisations raising money from the public do so honestly and properly, and adhere to the Institute of Fundraising’s Codes of Fundraising Practice. Rethink Mental Illness is proud to say that it’s one of the many large charities which have joined the FRSB and we are proud to be a member. To find out more about what this means to you, visit the Fundraising Standards Board's website for the public . We are always keen to ensure that any complaints are promptly and fairly handled. For further details, you can read our: Complaints Policy & Procedure.
