    • Promote the value of employment in mental health recovery across your allocated East Kent area.
    • Maintain effective records, manage referrals, and contribute to the smooth running of the service.

    What you’ll bring

    We’re looking for someone who

    • Has experience supporting people into employment or helping others overcome barriers to work.
    • Understands mental health challenges and has experience in social care, support services or community-based roles.
    • Can build positive relationships with a wide range of people, including employers, colleagues and service users.
    • Is empathetic, proactive and comfortable working independently across a dispersed geography.
    • Is organised, flexible and able to respond calmly to unexpected challenges.
    • Has strong awareness of risk management, safeguarding and confidentiality.
    • Holds — or is working towards — a Level 3 qualification relevant to care, community mental health or social support (or equivalent experience).

Experience delivering community projects, facilitating training, or developing workshops is desirable but not essential.

    Why join us?

Joining Rethink Mental Illness means becoming part of a charity that believes in people’s potential. You’ll receive:

    • Regular supervision and access to learning and development
    • Supportive, values-driven colleagues
    • Opportunities to shape services and empower individuals

At Rethink Mental Illness, we believe everyone deserves the opportunity to live a better quality of life. Technology plays a vital role in making that happen — and that’s where you come in.

The Business Improvement & Technology directorate was formed in January 2026, bringing together Technology & Business Systems with Compliance, Quality, Audit and PMO. This new directorate has an exciting purpose to drive real, meaningful change across the organisation. It will play a key role in improving how we work, maintaining compliance, shaping and strengthening our technology, systems, and data to deliver quality services, demonstrate our impact and enable strategic planning & delivery.

We’ve already transformed our technology services, earning recognition through Cyber Essentials and Cyber Essentials Plus. Now we’re looking for a Cyber Specialist to take us further — strengthening our cyber resilience, protecting vital services, and enabling our colleagues to deliver life-changing support safely and securely.

    What you’ll be doing

    • Monitor, report on and proactively mitigate risk across systems and data
    • Collaborate with teams across Technology, Compliance and wider business areas
    • Support projects and organisational change with a strong security-first mindset

    What you’ll bring

You’re someone who combines strong technical expertise with a passion for making a real-world difference.

    • A proactive, solution-focused mindset with the drive to improve and innovate

    Nice to have

    • Certifications in Azure or Cyber Security
    • Experience in the charity or not-for-profit sector

Please note this a fixed term contract with an end date of 30/11/2026

    About the role

At Rethink Mental Illness, we believe everyone severely affected by mental illness deserves the chance of a better life. We’re looking for a Stepdown Recovery Officer to join our community mental health services and play a vital role in supporting people as they move from inpatient care towards greater independence.

This is a hands on, people focused role where you’ll work alongside clinical teams, housing partners and local authorities to help individuals leave stepdown accommodation safely, confidently and at the right time. You’ll support people to build skills, access services and take steps towards recovery — always in a way that feels personal, respectful and empowering.

    • Understands mental health crisis and the challenges people face during discharge transitions
    • Can work independently, manage priorities and problem solve creatively
    • Communicates clearly, respectfully and confidently with a wide range of professionals
    • Is person centred, strengths based and motivated by helping people build independence
    • Has good written skills and can maintain accurate, confidential records

Knowledge of local services across Brent, Harrow, Hillingdon and Westminster would be an advantage, but it’s not essential.

    Why work for Rethink?

    • Meaningful work that makes a real impact
    • Supportive management and regular supervision
    • Ongoing training and development opportunities
    • A strong commitment to wellbeing, diversity and inclusion
    • The chance to shape recovery focused practice within mental health services
