Worthing Rethink Mental Health Carers Group
Services and Groups |Last updated: 09/12/2024
We are a peer-led support group for the carers, family members and friends of people with lived experience of mental illness. We also welcome people living with mental illness who wish to attend, as both sets of people share similar issues. We have three groups running: 1. A virtual meeting runs on the 2nd Monday of each month at 7pm. Contact us for details. 2. A face-to-face meeting is held on the 4th Monday of each month from 7pm at Meadowfield Hospital, Swandean, Arundel Road, Worthing BN13 3EF. Every month, we try to arrange for a guest speaker to talk to the group about their specialist area but always leave time for people to share concerns and receive support. 3. A drop-in session takes place on the first Wednesday of the month between 10:30am and 1pm, at The Happy Teapot Cafe, 7 Richmond Rd, Worthing BN11 1PN (opposite Worthing Library). Stay for 5 minutes, the whole time, or anywhere in between.

Sheffield OCD Support Group
Services and Groups |Last updated: 14/01/2026
Our OCD Support Group based in Sheffield offers adults over 18 with Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and OCD Spectrum conditions the opportunity to talk about their symptoms, to listen to the stories of other members, to share information, insights, peer support and coping mechanisms in a safe and secure environment. Over time. we as facilitators we have grown to understand that the pattern of presenting symptoms which always feel unique to the individual, creating at times an overwhelming burden of isolation and shame. These feelings can however be effectively combatted when members are able to come together in a confidential environment - a common physical and mental space where over time a shared understanding develops as it becomes clear that the faulty underlying cognitive processes in OCD are in fact common to every member. And once these barriers are broken down the fight against OCD is re-energised. New members are always welcome - no referral is required but we do ask that if possible you email us before attending. We don't have the capacity to allow carers/family members along to the meetings but in exceptional circumstances this can be accommodated for new attendees.
