What is ROCD?
ROCD stands for Relationship Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. It is a type of obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) that involves obsession and doubts about a relationship you’re in.
If you’re living with ROCD, you may experience repeated, intrusive thoughts and doubts about your feelings for your partner - or the suitability of your relationship - even if the relationship is healthy and fulfilling.
To reduce these anxious feelings, you might think or do something over and over again. This is called a compulsion and can seriously impact daily life, and cause distress to both people in the relationship.
ROCD can affect friendships, as well as romantic relationships, and can result in panic attacks and difficulty functioning in daily life.
But support is out there. ROCD is typically treated with talking therapy and medication.
