Our Braintree art group has been running since 2008 and offers people with lived experience of mental illness the chance to come together in Braintree to write, paint and draw. Our friendly group offers a safe space for people to share their experiences, tips and knowledge, as well as work together to fundraise and campaign together in their local community. Our long running group is open to anyone who has a brother or sister with lived experience of mental illness. The relationship between siblings is different to any other relationship, and our group reflects that. We can give a good insight into how mental illness can change relationships and discuss the ways you can support your sibling and the rest of your family, both emotionally and practically. The group usually meets roughly 9 times a year. The group are currently meeting on Wednesdays every 8 weeks, but from time to time this may change. We mainly support siblings whose brother or sister has schizophrenia or bi-polar but will not turn anyone away who cannot find support elsewhere.
