Keward House is a supported housing service for people aged 18 years and above, who are living with a mental illness and have low-to-medium needs. It has 19 rooms divided into four suites, each with communal kitchens, bathroom and lounge areas within one large building. The service provides housing-related support to people who are at risk of not accessing or sustaining a home because of their mental health, vulnerability and/or a history of housing related problems. Rowan House is a low to medium supported living service which provides a safe, person-centred environment for individuals who require support to develop and maintain their independence while managing their mental health and wellbeing. We work alongside each service user (S/U) to identify their strengths, goals, and areas where support is required. Our approach focuses on promoting independence rather than creating dependency, enabling S/Us to build confidence and develop practical life skills. The service is commissioned and regulated by Wiltshire Council. It is not Care Quality Commission Registered Care. Rowan House offers all service users a self-contained flat, where staff support service users to gain those necessary independence skills, ready for moving into the community. All placements are a maximum of two years. Rowan House does not take self-referrals, and all referrals must come through Brokerage via the mental health social work team or mental health teams. Salisbury Supported Housing, Sydney House is a large Victorian house on the edge of Salisbury City Centre. Sydney House is a low to medium-supported housing scheme for adults with mental health issues. Service users receive up to 10 hours of support a week from Mental Health Recovery Workers to help them work towards moving independently into the community through Homes4Witlshire. Specific person-centered goals tailored to the individuals’ needs are worked towards to support moving independently within a 2-year tenancy. Nine service users have their own rooms and share a large communal area, kitchen, and laundry room. Staff and service users arrange activities in the house, and out in the community. There is a warm and friendly atmosphere in the service where people who have been unwell are supported to gain the skills needed to have a fulfilling and meaningful life. We offer hope and compassion for a positive future for those we work with. The service offers between six- and twelve-weeks outreach support at two hours a week where needed after moving on. Service hours are 9 – 5pm weekdays and bank holidays.
