Salisbury Supported Housing (Sydney House)
Supported Housing
Sydney House is a large Victorian house situated on the edge of Salisbury city centre. It provides low to medium supported housing for adults with mental health needs who are working towards living independently.
Residents can receive up to 16 hours of support each week from our Mental Health Recovery Workers. Support is person-centred and tailored to each individual, helping people work towards their own goals, develop independent living skills and prepare for moving on to their own home through Homes4Wiltshire.
Sydney House can accommodate nine residents, each with their own bedroom and shared access to spacious communal areas, a kitchen and laundry facilities. Tenancies are normally for about two years, with support focused on helping each person build the confidence and skills they need for greater independence.
Staff and residents arrange activities both within the house and in the local community. Sydney House has a warm and friendly atmosphere where people are supported with compassion, respect and hope to build a fulfilling and meaningful life and work towards a positive future.
When residents move on, we can also provide outreach support where needed for between six and twelve weeks, usually for two hours per week, to help make the transition to independent living successful.
The service is not staffed at weekends or on bank holidays.
