Who we are

The Sanctuary Hub is a safe, welcoming place where you can access support outside of usual mental health service hours.

We provide out-of-hours support for people experiencing emotional distress, mental health crisis, or those who simply need someone to talk to when other services may be unavailable.

Our dedicated team are friendly, warm, enthusiastic, reliable, and responsive to individual needs. All staff are experienced and trained Mental Health Recovery Workers who deliver person-centred, compassionate, and holistic support.

The Sanctuary Hub provides support to anyone aged 18 and over who lives within the borough or is registered with a GP practice located within the borough.

If you are feeling overwhelmed, distressed, or unsure where to turn for mental health support, and your usual source of support is unavailable, the Sanctuary Hub is here to help.

What we do

The Sanctuary Hub offers a range of support services designed to help people manage emotional distress and avoid reaching crisis point.

We provide:

  • Self-referral access
  • Drop-in support
  • One-to-one support sessions
  • De-escalation and crisis prevention support
  • Coping strategies and safety planning
  • Support group sessions
  • Peer support opportunities
  • Wellbeing workshops and activities
  • Signposting to other services
  • Referrals to appropriate support providers

Our team works alongside individuals to identify practical coping strategies and develop personalised safety plans to better manage difficult situations.

The Sanctuary Hub is a safe place for individuals and their carers to access support during evenings and weekends when other services may be closed.

Our aim is to provide early intervention, de-escalate distress, and help prevent mental health crises wherever possible.

People who use our services are at the heart of everything we do, and we believe everyone should be treated with dignity, compassion, and respect.

In addition to hub-based support, the team also delivers community outreach and in-reach support, helping us reach people where they are and ensuring support remains accessible to those who need it most.

Accessing the Sanctuary Hub

No appointment is required. Simply drop in during our opening hours and a member of the team will be available to support you.

Alternatively, you can contact NHS 111 and select Option 2 for mental health support. The NHS 111 team can arrange an appointment time with the Sanctuary Hub if appropriate.

We aim to make support as accessible as possible, ensuring help is available when you need it most.

Providing hope and empowerment for those who need us.
