Obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) is an anxiety disorder. If you live with OCD, you will usually have obsessive thoughts and compulsive behaviours. It is estimated that 1.2% of the population in the UK have OCD.

Launched in 2009 by the International OCD Foundation, OCD Awareness Week aims to raise understanding and awareness of what OCD is, and how it affects people. It runs from 10-16th October and is celebrated by organisations and individuals worldwide.

If you have obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD), you have obsessive thoughts and compulsive rituals and behaviours.

 OCD affects 1.2% of the population in the UK.
 A mix of different factors can cause OCD.
 The usual treatment options for OCD are cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) and medication.
 If you have OCD you may find that it affects areas of your life like work or relationships.
