If you have a friend or family member who is affected by mental health issues, and you have concerns about their mental or emotional wellbeing, you may need support yourself. You can contact us directly, or a GP or mental health staff can refer you to us. You don’t need to live with the person you care for, to consider yourself a ‘carer’ or be recognised officially as a carer to access our service. We offer one to one meetings and telephone support as well as group support, access to short breaks, and have a good knowledge of local services which we can share with you. Interpreters can be arranged. There is a specific worker who liaises with psychiatric wards at Southmead and Callington Road hospitals, and we co-facilitate groups and courses with statutory mental health staff.
