Thanet Crisis Peer Alternative Service
Crisis
Our new crisis peer alternative service works with people aged 18+ in Dartford, Gravesham & Swanley, Medway and Thanet who are
struggling to find the extra help they need.
This could be because they:
• recently experienced a mental health crisis and still need some support
• frequently require mental health crisis support
• have complex emotional difficulties (formerly referred to as personality disorder)
• are waiting for a mental health assessment (having been referred by a healthcare professional)
We help people to manage their mental health using recovery-focused support techniques.
Our tailored support can include:
• one-to-one support in-person, online or over the phone
• access to regular peer-led group sessions
Our staff all have experience of mental health issues and can draw on this to support clients, making them feel more
comfortable discussing what they are going through.
Support lasts for up for 12 weeks. Our aim is to prevent people’s mental health issues from escalating to a point where
more specialist support is needed. When the 12 weeks ends, we can help people to access a network of community mental health services.
