The Government set up the Syrian Vulnerable Persons Relocation Scheme (SVPRS) in February 2014 as part of its response to the current refugee crisis in Syria and surrounding
countries. This scheme involves taking particularly vulnerable refugees straight from the Middle East
and resettling them in the UK. The families are provided with intense support when arriving into UK aswell as supporting becoming independent and integrated within the community.
