We know that many people find it difficult to navigate the healthcare system after losing someone through suicide. Here is a resource list with a variety of support services for anyone bereaved by suicide. We hope you will find the right support for your needs.

UK Sobs exist to meet the needs and break the isolation experienced by those bereaved by suicide. They are a self-help organisation and aim to provide a safe, confidential environment in which bereaved people can share their experiences and feelings, so giving and gaining support from each other.

Facing the Future support groups will give you the opportunity on Zoom to meet others who have lost someone to suicide and share your experiences and feelings. Each support group is run by two trained volunteer facilitators from Samaritans and Cruse Bereavement Support and the groups run once a week over six consecutive weeks, with each session lasting for 90 minutes. There are a maximum of seven participants in each group and sessions are free of charge.

CALM stand together with everyone who’s struggling with life, no matter who they are, where they’re from or what they’re going through. And they do it through their life-saving services, national campaigns, and by building communities. Their helpline and webchat are open 365 days a year, offering practical suggestions for all of life’s problems - whether that’s anxiety, relationship concerns, health worries, money worries or suicidal thoughts.

Inquest is the only charity providing expertise on state-related deaths and their investigation to bereaved people, lawyers, advice and support agencies, the media and parliamentarians. Their specialist casework includes deaths in police and prison custody, immigration detention, mental health settings and deaths involving multi-agency failings or where wider issues of state and corporate accountability are in question.

Cruse offers support through their website, national helpline, live chat, group, zoom, telephone or one-to-one in-person support. Cruse wants to make sure everyone grieving gets the help they need in a way that works for them. They have a specially trained dedicated team of 4,000 bereavement volunteers.
