The Mental Health Act White Paper is a crucial step along the road to reform of the Mental Health Act 1983, and enhanced rights to choice and involvement for people detained under the Act. These two reports engaged people currently and previously detained under the Act to share their perspectives with the Department of Health and Social Care and inform the government's response to the White Paper.
