World Mental Health Day
For those of us experiencing mental illness, we live in an unequal world. There’s no two ways about it. Stigma. Discrimination. Lack of support. Limited access to housing, employment and welfare. It doesn’t make good reading. That's why we're fighting to make sure that mental health is a nationwide priority. It's time for everyone to prioritise mental health for 365 days a year, not just one!
With the looming impacts of the cost of living crisis and the lingering issues remaining from a global pandemic, a lot of people are quite rightly worried about their mental health at the moment. We need the government to put clear steps in place to adequately support those of us living with severe mental illness. Here's where you come in. Save our images and share them to your social media channels. Together, we can make sure that our message is not ignored. Together, we can make mental health a priority.
We've even added some social media copy beside each of our images to make it as easy as possible. Save the image to your computer by right clicking the image of your choice and then select 'save as'. Copy and paste the words to your desired social media platform and, there you have it! You've shown to everyone that it's time to prioritise mental health.
For #WorldMentalHealthDay, I'm joining Rethink Mental Illness in calling for mental health to be a national priority.
This #WorldMentalHealthDay, let's demand a fairer society for people living with mental illness.
Mental health can impact each and every one of us. This #WorldMentalHealthDay, let's make mental health a priority for all.
