Every year, thousands of people turn to us for advice, information and practical support when they most needed it. Thanks to the generous support of our fundraisers, we are able to continue our work to improve access to treatment, fight stigma and change lives. No matter how big or how small your idea, our fundraising team are on hand to help. So if you’re thinking about parachuting out of a plane or a quiet 24 hour knit-a-thon, you know your hard work is help us challenge attitudes and change the live of everyone affected by mental illness.
We campaign nationally and locally to push mental health up the public agenda and change government policy for the better. Our movement of passionate campaigners have successfully campaigned to get the UK government to include mental health as a key priority in the NHS England Long Term Plan, drop harmful plans for supported housing funding, meaning people living with mental illness have the support they need to thrive in the community, and to commit to review of the Mental Health Act to see how it can work better for everyone that it affects.
Our support groups
From cooking and gardening to chatting over a cuppa, our network of 140+ support groups provide empathy, acceptance and reassurance from people who have been through similar experiences. They provide a listening ear, friendship and social support that makes coping with life’s challenges that bit easier. The information shared and knowledge gained in the group empowers members, builds self-confidence and enables people to become more engaged in issues such as care and treatment. With so much to offer, why not find or start a group in your area today?
