most of us on rethink have been through the system (not all) and found answers to to issues we have experienced ! but want do we want to do with our experiences and how can we make a difference with them ? i am an advocate of sharing and positive mental health ! positive in the fact those who av been there worn the tee-shirt should give bac to those who havent . there are confused young people at the start of their person journey with no idea what is going on no direction or coping mechanisms in place to make their transition to peace of mind easier . do u remember when u were in their position and shoes? how we were calling out for sum1 to help in our struggle! too many want to sit in self pitty and attention seek im guilty of that ! its not about us, we have learnt coping mechanism , made sum sense of our distress ! lets stop talking about how shitty we feel today we know its a blip from experience lets turn our knowledge base encourage the young to join and help them to get to our position . its not about the people who have been there done that but the young 1s who havent ! lets turn mental health on the head, a positive spin and help people at the start of their journey thru our experience! lets not allow them to stumble and fall at every hurdle lets use wat we know to make a difference! common everybody bac this stance fight stigma help our brothers and sister dont turn our bacs on them ! lets not be selfish and think of our community which is ever growing !

I am still really in the early stages of recovery and still can't makes sense of my distress tho it's coming to me slowly. When i think about what i've been thru it makes me feel suicidal.- On the other hand things can't get any worse
its easy to say things will get better in time but it will i have been in the place u are now . it takes time to adjust to ur situation and to settle wen on the rite meds. mental illness is confusing and complicated but u will learn ur own coping mechanism . i think we are survivalist u av to be and ur experience of overcoming the hurdles u will come across will lay the foundation for the next 1 to make that 1 easier. i think u need a bit of luck but that will come too . its made easier if u av a close support network and a safe enviroment to reinvent urself . to make sense of wat u av been thru u need an insight in understand urself getting in touch with ur feelings and emotions not to beat urself up with them ....be positive and however many steps bac u take if u take a step forward is an achievement . everybodys recovery is different! some ppls can be bankers politicians accountants in life but can they learn how to cope with mental illness im not sure .little steps make big ones then one day ul be strong and ul av ur life bac !!!!!!!!! never give up hope if u reach out for that ur not alone !

Thanks for your words of wisdom.I'm not sure how you guys have found it in the past but i have had a lot of support from mental health teams, health agencies etc that in actual fact have overloaded my life so much that it's overwhelmed me and even put me back in hospital with the amount of stress i got from this.
It makes me quite sad aswell cos i have a friend in her 60's who is desperate for support and is finding it difficult to get any support.Oh the irony of it...

the health service were am at is the best av been in some have seriously neglected my needs when i was at my worst . it sometimes very difficult to get a foot hold in the MH services these days . all u can do is support ur friend as best u can from a personal perspective . if she has a care co ordinator which it sounds like she doesnt check out charitable organisations like mind, stonham and the richmond fellowship if they can help mayb they could offer sum suggestions wat she can do pointing her in right direction .
