I've been trying for direct payments for years, the council is saying that my needs aren't in the 2 highest bands substantial or critical. i feel thats recently partly because i've been paying for acupuncture which increases my functioning to the extent i can use the leisure centre which in turn increases my function

Funnily enough when i first moved here the first shrink i saw tryed to twist my arm to get me to go to the day hospital i refused, then when i was assessed they wanted me to go to a day centre i refused

I would like direct payments to pay for acupuncture, internet and isits to my mother in brum, they say refusing these things does not compromise my independence, i'm not so sure if benefits are cut and i can't afford acupuncture that could have a knock on effect resulting in services having to be provided

One guy on the net was getting direct payments to pay for internet, he said i could phone then spent the entire call patronising me, turned out he was an ex laing guy who wasn't compliant swith meds and kept on been admitted

The direct payments claim went as high as the parliamentary ombudsman who i feel doesn't understand about direct payments in a mental health setting so i didn't get any support
