You're so right. I work in the NHS and have suffered so much discrimination because of my chronic depression. We're going to an Employment Tribunal because of it. I've had time off work with work-related stress and they've ignored it. I'm now in the middle of a major depressive episode because of their actions. You would think that healthcare professionals would have a greater understanding of illness, but because mental health problems are "invisible" they don't seem to count.

Those who work in healthcare are the worst, in my personal experience, at discriminating against those with mental health difficulties.

Its awful as you would expect the opposite, what with their greater understanding in health related matters.

I guess they think they should be immune to mental health issues since they are carers and on the other side - which is why they also make the worse patients too.

But mental health problems can strike ANYONE as we all know, no matter who you are or what job you do... and I know this only too well. Wish things were different
