What biological tests have you had to show you have a mental illness? Blood tests, brain scans, genetic tests?

That confirm that you suffering with your particular diagnosis & shows the biological disease process.

I'd be interested to hear.

They didn't need blood - they have their eyes. I was clearly wrong because I spoke like a equal and that just couldn't be. So from being a top quartile engineering student I became a accredited EXPERT on basket weaving and many years later the largest ever wiccaman is ready for the shrinks and all their ilk, lawyers, politicans and sundry control freaks. :D

I had an MRI test - something about ventricles being small. But as for diagnostic blood testing or genetic testing etc - there are none.

Has any one seen a proton electron or neutron, the basis of physics and chemistry, all you can see is they're effects, that doesn't invalidate science

I think i gave a blood test to someone investigating a genetic hypothesis, it was never proved

Scientists don't rely on subjective arbitary checklists to determine the existance of sundry small particles. Can you imagine how far they'd have got if they spent their lives scrying teacups like shrinks do? :D

It's considered scientific fact that you can't see electrons they're size is below the visable wave length of light

I've also heard it claimed brain scans show schitzoprenic brains

You cannot see the earth's core because of the stuff in the way. Science will tell you it is there - it is a fact with real evidence. I've not upto now seen any credible evidence for schizophrenia as a objective reality, not anywhere - that isn't to say people with the label are well, just whatever is wrong is likely to be one of two dozen things masked by this label. My own opinion is that it is a catch all label. Once applied it is self fulfilling since powerful drugs lead to negative symptoms and any attempted withdrawel from the drugs leads to 'withdrawel pyschosis' and often to the common revolving door phase.

It's a damn trap alright.

It's a damn shame that people aren't genuinely helped when they first experience these things. I've still not got over what was done to me over 20 years ago when I first went into 'psychosis'; & I doubt that I'll ever get over it. I hope that somewhere along the line - on some level - there is some kind of 'pay off'.

I think that I'm gonna have to accept life long psychiatric drug dependency; & life long severe & enduring MH issues - largely because I've been failed by this country, culture, society, & MH System - it sickens me more than angers me these days. I hope that some people pay a severe price for how things are.

Where is the proof that all psychosis that occurs after discontinuing medication is down to is what is classified as 'withdrawal psychosis'?
I don't dispute it might be true in some cases. But in all cases?! That's stretching credulity.
