Hi there,

I have borderline personality disorder/ depression/ PTSD... I have a query about my benefits.
I receive DLA and until August last year I received ESA. They stopped ESA because I told them I had just got married, they said they thought I had been single until then, which I had not. They said I wouldn't have been entitled to ESA (this was on the phone, no letter was sent). I don't remember them asking whether I was single or living with someone when I applied, as it was during the time that incapacity benefit turned into ESA.
I've heard nothing until now when I get a letter from the Pension service titled 'About your local service visit'.
It says they need to come and see me to discuss the recent changes to the benefits I receive.
I'm absolutely terrified I've done something wrong, and I'm going to have to pay it all back.
Has anyone else had a visit like this? Can you tell me what it involves?
I'm in such a state :(

Thanks

Be careful what you say. They could be undercover fraud squad officers operating under the new harsher regime where they'll not forgive a mistake. Might be a good idea to have a third party like a social worker or health advocate present, and watch out for recording using mobile phones.
