A friend of mine suffers with Bi Polar disorder. Badly. He knows that he will re assesed shortly. He is frightened. It is making his condition worse. I worry about what this might lead to. Does the Government understand this condition? I don't think so. I have seen him not able to get up for days on end. He needs help, not hinderence, there is very little help from the Government here.

I am sorry about your friend. I know what Bi Polar can do to people. My friend's younger sister suffers from it. And the new government do appear to be picking on the vulnerable, but I do think as long as your friend knows you are going to be there through thick and thin, then he will relax. Often, just the reassurance of a companion is good enough to get someone through the worst of the worst.
The reassessing isn't as bad as you think, and frankly, most don't understand, but it isn't as bad as people think.

People do understand Emmy and thats why the majority are fearfully and unwell. The governments own review came to the conclusion that ESA is unfit for purpose, finding only 10% put into the 'safe' group. The government , based on current figures, will be removing 6000 disabled claimants per week into or onto the dole queue.

- & back into illness & crisis, back into hospitals & prisons, back into crime, drugs & old lifestyles, back onto the streets, & into morgues. Maybe some will eventually find their way back to some kind of wellness & stability?
What a great, caring, humane, & compassionate system, & society we have. & what a noble thing to do; in abolishing the Welfare State for the most vulnerable, & down trodden people of society; those without a voice. It's a wonderful social experiment in facing challenges & difficulties in the face of adversity - designed to test our recovery & coping skills; all in a gentle, structured & supportive way. It isn't that bad really - it's progress to a more civilised society,
