Time to Change celebrates the sibling festival
13 August 2011
Time
to Change celebrated Raksha Bandan in Harrow this year. During this
Hindu sibling festival, siblings give each other a Rakhi (Indian
Bracelet) to show their appreciation for one another. To promote the
idea of families talking to each other about mental illness and starting
the conversations in the South Asian community to help break down
barriers, Time to Change made their own Rakhi with a special message on
the back.

Author Molly McCloskey took part in a live webchat on RethinkTalk to
discuss what it is like to have a sibling with schizophrenia and what
she learned while writing her memoir Circles Around the Sun about her
family, schizophrenia and her own mental health.
