Parents
It can be very difficult when a child is diagnosed with a mental illness and when you have other children you may be unsure of how mental illness might affect them and what you can do to help.
When one of your children is diagnosed with mental illness, it can be a very difficult time for the whole family. A mother's experience is different than a father's experience and a parent's experience is different than that of a brother or sister.
Everyone will deal with the issues presented by mental illness in their own way and at their own rate, but it can greatly help your other child if you take the time to really explain what has happened as best you can and learn more together.
