About mental illness Living with mental illness How can we help Get involved
Dear Friend

Some may think that people on benefits 'have it easy', but it's been a painfully anxious and distressing few months for people affected by mental health problems who rely on them . This month, the Government set out plans to simplify the system. Find out what these changes might mean for people affected by severe mental illness and what Rethink is going to do about it.

Best wishes

Iain Duncan Smith DWP Secretary of State for Work and Pensions

Will they listen to us?

Tougher penalties are being introduced, but we don’t think the system effectively recognises mental illness or offers people the support they need.

So what can we do? Ask Secretary of State, Iain Duncan Smith to take part in a live webchat with Rethink supporters and listen to how  proposed changes to benefits will affect people living with mental illness.

Our online form makes it easy to send a message - and a strong collective voice is hard to ignore!

Move over Moonpig...

Stuck with what to get for Christmas? Why not make the gift of a donation to Rethink on a loved one’s behalf, then email us with the name and address of the person you’d like to give for and we'll send them a Rethink Christmas card telling them a gift has been made in their name.

The money you give goes towards preserving Rethink's advice & information helpline, strengthening our campaigns and enabling the life-changing work that Rethink does every day. Thank you!
