Drinking less
Just like the bad foods we discussed above, drinking too much alcohol can make us feel depressed and tired. And it can react badly with medicines. So it’s sensible to treat it with caution.
A couple of drinks with friends can be a positive part of life, but continued overconsumption of alcohol will not be a positive experience.
Recommended daily intake...
It is recommended that women drink 3 units of alcohol at the most and men drink 4 units or less each day. One unit is:
- half a pint of beer or lager
- 1 small glass of wine
- 1 single measure of vodka/gin/whisky/brandy etc
If you are worried that you are drinking too much, it might be a good idea to keep a diary of how much you drink. Then you can try to cut down and monitor your progress.
