Forresters - Rethink respite centre
Forresters is a Rethink national respite centre. It is a magnificent country house situated in Hythe on the edge of the New Forest and can offer residential facilities for up to 23 people. This project is able to offer welcome breaks for both sufferers and carers. Experienced staff is on hand to provide 24 hour specialist help and support.

Break Norfolk
Holidays available in 2 centres within Norfolk at attractive seaside resorts with good beaches and recreational opportunities. A wide holiday programme is provided with outings in an adapted bus. Break Norfolk holidays would not be suitable in all cases, therefore applications would need to be discussed on an individual basis.

Penumbra Respite Care
Situated in Edinburgh, they provide residential respite for adults from anywhere in the UK. Respite periods are for up to 3 weeks for adults experiencing or recovering from mental health problems. They provide guesthouse style accommodation with an emphasis on comfort and privacy. Friendly, skilled support staff are on site permanently. This can be used as a break for carers while the cared for person is on respite.

Churchtown Cornwall Activity Centre
Churchtown exists to provide accessible outdoor education and adventure courses for all. It takes in people from a wide range of backgrounds & ages and offers a variety of activities tailored to meet special needs. The centre has its own farm and nature reserve set in 12 acres of Cornish countryside and operates a fleet of boats on the River Fowey. Staff are experienced in all aspects of providing for visitors' needs whether physical, intellectual or as a result of mental illness.

Mothers' Union
Christian women's organisation set up to help support family life. Away From It All (AFIA) is a holiday scheme funded by members of the Mothers' Union to help people experiencing stressful situations who wouldn't otherwise be able to have a holiday. Anyone can apply for a holiday, each applicant being asked to provide a letter of referral from a professional who knows the family e.g GP, Social Worker, head teacher, cleric, etc. The holidays take many different forms including caravan holidays, chalet accommodation and family holiday sites. Kiloran Trust
Provides residential supportive breaks for carers for a weekend or a week or two. "Kiloran is a welcoming house where feelings can be safely expressed & understood and where there is a real understanding of the stresses & strains placed on those in the caring field." Acommodation for 4 or 5 people at a time.
