Rethink Mental Illness Research Panel
Rethink Mental Illness Research Panel ensures that people using mental health services and carers are at the centre of our decision making. The panel plays a key role in judging the research projects that seek to recruit through Rethink Mental Illness services and social media.
The panel is comprised of people using mental health services and carers from across England who use their lived experience of severe mental illness to ensure that the research adheres to Rethink Mental Illness beliefs and effectively supports those who take part.
The Research Panel also comments on individual pieces of work related to mental health and research. Examples have included awards shortlisting, examining research priorities and commenting on Rethink Mental Illness own research outputs.
The recruitment to research process
The flow chart below highlights the application process for researchers wishing to recruit participants through Rethink Mental Illness:
The application process is straightforward for the researcher: a short application form sent to us with relevant materials is required. The Panel assessment process takes approximately six weeks after receiving the application.
