Rethink Advocacy Service (Maidstone)
RASM provides a client advocacy service for those with mental health needs in and around Maidstone. The service is independent, confidential and free.
We recruit, train and support volunteer advocates to work alongside the client when dealing with a particular task/issue. We are concerned with promoting and protecting the rights and interests of the individual as well as helping to widen their social network in the community. We receive referrals from statutory and voluntary sectors as well as self-referrals. Many clients return to use our service during a period of mental ill health and our ongoing aim is to empower the individual so they can continue to lead a confident and independent life in the community.
