Good thinking - how the service works
Welcome to the Good thinking service, which provides support for people with anxiety, depression and other common mental health problems. Good thinking has a number of centres in GP surgeries and different community sites across Leicestershire and Rutland.
How does the service work?
If you are having problems with feeling low, anxious or stressed and would like some help, you may discuss this with your GP who will arrange referral to Good thinking for you.
Your therapist
At the first meeting with your named therapist we will work with you to understand what the problem is and agree together the next steps.
Together, you and your therapist will plan a programme of support and self-help activities that have been shown to be effective and helpful. This will usually be done over the telephone at an agreed time.
We will match your needs to an appropriate service. It is likely that you will be offered between one and eight therapy sessions and possibly more if you require a higher intensity therapy.
