Get Moving

Time to Change's Get Moving is an England-wide mass-participation week of events led by Mind. Celebrating the benefits of physical  activity for mental wellbeing, it combats stigma by bringing people together to get active and acknowledge that we all have mental health. Underpinning the Time to Change campaign, Get Moving brings together people with a range of mental health experiences to break down the stigma associated with mental health problems.

Highlights of 2009

  • In 2009, Get Moving was launched by Gordon Ramsey and cricketer Alec Stewart at Stamford Bridge for the Chelsea vs. Liverpool match.
  • 27,000 people were involved in events across the country from the Eden Project in Cornwall to Cumbria.

How can I get involved?

Anyone can get involved with Get Moving, by attending an event in their area or by organising their own event with the support of the Get Moving toolkit, event line and participant goodies.

Get Moving event organisers bring together members of their local communities and networks to get active and raise the profile of mental health and the Time to Change campaign.
