Using parliament and your MP
Your Member of Parliament (MP) represents you!
Meet your MP
Rethink Mental Illness activists often contact their MP to raise issues around mental health and to discuss what their MP can do to help. This could just be a 10 minute meeting in your constituency or at Westminster. Find out who your MP is and how to get in touch.
We have created a guide to meeting your MP. Read or download it here: Tips for meeting your MP (134 kb) ![]()
Ask a question
If you need to find out factual information for your local area, you can ask your MP to table a parliamentary question.
For example you could find out the bed occupancy rate in your local area. Ask the Campaigns Team if you would like further help with this.
Send an invitation
Why not invite your MP to look round your local service or attend a group meeting? They may be keen to get the local media involved and have a photo opportunity. Ask the Campaigns Team for help if you need advice.
