Know your facts
Supporting your campaign with evidence is crucial if you want to look credible. You can find out what's going on by:
- Looking on the The Care Quality Commission website. This is an independent organisation which reports on standards of mental healthcare. On their website you can find out about concerns in your area and how many people might be effected.
- Making a Freedom of Information request, e.g. to get statistics from local government.
Download our factsheet on making Freedom of Information Requests. - Write to your Mental Health Trust, local councillor or service manager. Explain who you are and why you are interested. If they don't answer within 3 weeks, send them a polite reminder.
- Ask the Campaigns Team. We can also support you to make Freedom of Information Requests and find out background information on your MP.
Cuts
We are currently compiling information on cuts to mental health services. If you're interested in receiving this information for your area email us.
Tell us if services are being cut near you.
Now that you've got the facts why not write a brief to get more people involved?
