Rethink Politics
Rethink Politics was a three year project funded by the Electoral Commission, aiming to increase the political participation of people affected by mental illness. The project has now come to an end.
At the end of the project, we launched our concluding Rethink Politics report at a celebratory event in Parliament.

Rethink Politics - project background
From 2008-2009, service users and carers from across England and Northern Ireland have taken part in a training programme to become Rethink Politics Champions. Following the training programme Rethink Politics Champions have:
- led a peer-led voter registration drive to encourage those affected by mental illness to sign on to the electoral register
- organised events in their local areas to raise awareness about politics and encourage people to take part in democracy
- engaged with local decision-makers
To find out more about these activities read the updates on our Campaigns on the Move web page.
