You and Media - Tackling media interviews with confidence

You and Media draws on the advice of experienced media volunteers to provide a step-by step guide to the interview process for those speaking out for the first time, and for anyone preparing for an interview about mental health matters.  Hopefully this online guide will give you the inspiration and tips you need to make your voice heard.

I would advise volunteers to take a chance. We need more and more families who are willing to tell their stories to raise the profile of mental illness so that service users retrieve some respect for what they have to go through. “It’s high time that people realised just how painful mental illness is and how brave people are to even face another day. It’s time for some strong action with regards to stigma. We are no longer prepared to hide under cloaks like lepers and we have to grab every opportunity to change media attitudes.
