What issues are we campaigning on?

Benefits: People who are ill should get a decent income and be able to take steps towards work without losing all benefits.

Mad Hatters Tea Party with Hazel Blears MP LabourEmployment: Rethink has helped secure a historic change which will stop employers from being able to discriminate against candidates with mental health problems.

Jury Service: Rethink thinks it’s unfair that people who are using mental health services can’t sit on a jury. We want people like Stephen Fry and Clare Allan and all people with mental illness to be treated as equal citizens

Rethink Politics aims to increase the political awareness and engagement of people affected by severe mental illness. We are also campaigning to make Parliament more representative and for a change to section 141 of the Mental Health Act which states an MP can be removed from their seat if they are detained under the the Act for six months or more.

Gordon brown and time to change team mid-sizeRethink is working to change people's attitudes to severe mental illness through Time to Change, an anti-stigma programme reaching millions of people.
