"I chose to run for Rethink to offer my support and thank them for the sterling work they do for people affected by mental illness. I had never run more than 5k before and started to panic before the event but I decided that even if I had to walk some it, it wouldn't be the end of the world as I was doing it for an amazing cause.
When I got to the start I met a lady who told me about her own personal battle with schizophrenia. We decided to support each other and stay together for the race as we both just wanted to cross the finish line. And we did! In 3 hours!! We were both shocked as we ran all the way too. The run was so much fun, with everyone happy, chatting, having fun and making jokes. To say it was an emotional day would be an understatement - it was a day i'll never forget and I met an amazing friend for life!"
