The world's biggest half marathon, the BUPA Great North Run, celebrated its 27th anniversary in 2007 and is a point-to-point course that starts in Newcastle and finishes in South Shields.

If you decide to run for Rethink we’ll send you a fun runner's pack, put you in touch with other Rethink runners on the team and making sure you feel ready and confident to run. You also get a free trendy running vest!

It's a great day, and a great way to help Rethink. If you're interested and would like to run for us in 2008 then send an email now with your name, address and contact number to the fundraising events team, to secure your place!

Meet our 2007 runners:

GNR - runner - SimonSimon Hughes "I work as an occupational therapist in a rehabilitation and recovery service. I wanted to go that extra mile for Rethink."

GNR - Gillian - runnerGillian Grundy "Helping to raise funds for Rethink enabled them to help people in difficult situations and continue the fantastic work that they do".

"It was an amazing day. I did the Edinburgh marathon last year but the support and entertainment along the way was incredible in comparison (death metal bands to Elvis impersonators to Barber shop quartets to some old lady blasting "Come on Eileen" out of her flat!).
I thoroughly enjoyed it. The last 800 meters felt like they would never end but when the finish line came into sight my legs started working again and I even managed a sprint finish! Official time was 1:56.29 which I am pleased with and will definitely do it again next year." Jonathan Varnham, 2007.
