Nina's fund
Wednesday the 19th of May 2004 saw the launch of Nina’s Fund, which honours the memory of Nina Dean, a model and photographer who sadly died in June 2003 after experiencing paranoid schizophrenia for many years.
Nina was a model who had enjoyed a successful career on the catwalks, including periods modeling for Dior, Yves Saint Laurent and Valentino. She was also a talented photographer who first studied photography while living with her then husband, actor Fred Forrest in Los Angeles.
The fund was developed when Nina’s brothers, Alex and Jimmy, approached Rethink shortly after her death. They were both keen to find a way they could work with Rethink and use Nina's memory to help others experiencing severe mental illness.
