Is mental illness ever a gift?
Alastair Hamilton Talks about his Christian faith and his response to mental illness.
"I'm a Christian and I've been struggling with mental health issues all my life."
Alastair talks about how he feels God has given him this "painful gift" of mental illness:
"He's chosen me to be responsible with my mental illness and he;s trusted me with it because he knows that I'm going to get through it.
It's a gift which is a painful gift. I think it's a gift which not everybody can carry. It's not something I want to throw away because it's given me so much. I don't think I could be myself, the way I am today unless I'd been where I've been."
