Hi I am Teabreak, I am 26 years old and work as a mental health recovery working. This is my blog about working with a mental health condition. 

Teabreak works as a mental health recovery work and has a diagnosis of depression and multiple physical difficulties. His blog will cover his experiences of working with a mental health problem and how he wants to inspire people to improve their own lives by drawing on his own personal knowledge of living with depression.

An apologetic GP

“You cant see your GP. She is on leave for 6 or 8 weeks.”

For anyone in desperation this was a very last thing you would want to hear,  yet this was the response I was given last week - on the day I gave in and decided I was again in enough trouble to ask for my GP’s assistance.

Hindsight

Life in hindsight is much clearer – but we can see errors with such clarity, it can scare us. For 8 years of my life my mental health was not only ignored but made worse by the health and educational establishments.

To quote an action film (using fewer expletives), “some people are always trying to ice-skate uphill” -and for a long time this applied to me. Why did I try to ice-skate uphill? Why didn’t I sit myself down at the bottom and make myself comfortable and watch others struggle?
