Symptoms of anxiety disorders

People with anxiety disorders may experience these symptoms and feelings, more frequently than other people, and to the extent that they interfere with their lives and ability to function normally.

General anxiety symptoms

Specific symptoms and the intensity of them will be different for each disorder, and to each individual with an anxiety condition, but may include a combination of the following:

Feeling worried a lot of the time
Feeling tired
Difficulties concentrating
Being irritable
Problems sleeping
Heart palpitations (irregular beat)
Sweating
Tension and pains
Heavy and rapid breathing
Dizziness
Fainting
Indigestion
Diarrhoea
Stomach aches and sickness (especially in young children)
Feelings of dread or impending doom
