Where do I get a second opinion from?

In Rethink’s experience, the best course of action for someone who is affected by the sort of problems we have described is to find a doctor who is a real specialist - you should not have to go outside the NHS to do this.

Many people choose to go to the Psychosis Outpatient Service at the Maudsley Hospital in London which offers second opinions and treatment review in cases where psychosis might be involved.

This is a national service which has been established for many years and which is highly valued by families:

There are three national specialist services that offer second opinions and treatment reviews for people who have affective (mood) disorders such as bipolar disorder and clinical depression.
