Research

McpinlogoOver the past ten years Rethink Mental Illness has undertaken practical, evidence-based research on topics of concern to people affected by mental illness.

From April 2013 we changed our approach to move from undertaking our own research, to supporting people affected by mental illness to influence the wider research community’s priorities.

We are also beginning a programme of work to translate new research findings to our members and facilitate debate around their implications. This is a very new and exciting area and we are very grateful for the support we have already received from academic colleagues as we begin to take it forward.

Staff who previously worked in the research team at Rethink Mental Illness are now based in the McPin Foundation, a dedicated user-focused mental health research organisation. The McPin Foundation and Rethink Mental Illness will be working together to take forward our shared aims to improve the lives of everyone affected by mental illness.
